Welcome!

Welcome to my website! I bought this domain to be used for apps and maybe a website if I really felt like it, but I hadn't made any efforts to build an actual site on it. Well, one day I decided to build a site anyway as a sort of resume. I mean, the domain's my last name, so I might as well use it to market myself.

Well, when I first built this site, I started with Google Sites, but the website was too static, and there were some layout issues that I didn't particularly like, so I decided to build a new one from scratch. Granted, this new one doesn't look as nice as the old one (I'm a web developer, not an experience designer), but it's a product of my work, and I have the power to make it whatever I want it to be.

haven't exactly built a site from scratch to this degree before. I'm used to starting with a web host that has everything figured out except the web pages themselves. All I had to do was write the HTML to get it working or use the site designer provided by the host. This time I've started with nothing but a domain and some basic knowledge on how it all should work.

To document everything I worked on and what I learned along the way, I created a blog to record my progress on building this site. It skips over the basic things like building the basic structure of the site on Angular, but then it starts with the things that I never really understood until I started working on this site. Things like making a docker image for deploying the site to a container, storing that container somewhere in AWS, deploying the container and routing traffic to it from the internet. All things that I wish I knew earlier and that I hope will help others who would like to start their own site from scratch and don't have a whole lot of experience with cloud development.

Well you're here now because I was able to get it all working. Thank you for visiting. If you have some open developer positions and you like what you see, take a look at my resume. Or if you'd like, you could learn a little more about me personally. I talk about the things people usually like to ask about on your first time interacting with a group.
